This 6 days mountain bike circuit from Marrakech is an invitation to discover Morocco differently, far from the beaten path and tourist crowds. From Marrakech, the route takes you to Toundout, a secret valley surrounded by the simplicity of rural life. You then continue to Boutaghrar and the Dades Gorges, true geological treasures nestled between red mountains and terraced fields. Each turn brings you closer to the soul of southern Morocco.
Kasbahs, Valleys, and Desert Oases
Next, you enter the region of N’kob, a discreet village with 45 kasbahs, lost among palm groves and dry mountains. Then comes the Drâa Valley, a long river lined with date palms and earthen villages. In Zagora, the Sahara begins to call. You’ll visit Tamgrout and its Koranic library before reaching M’Hamid, the last town before the vastness of the desert. The silence grows deeper, the sky wider… You’re at the gates of the Erg Chegaga.
The Call of the Desert (6-Day MTB Tour from Marrakech)
The Chegaga dunes rise majestically before you. Far from everything, you’ll spend the night in a nomadic bivouac under the stars, warmed by fire and Berber songs. The next day, the return via the Iriki lake plateau and Foum Zguid reveals a raw, infinite desert. The loop ends in Marrakech, but the journey will stay with you: a deep dive into Morocco’s raw landscapes and heartfelt encounters.
This unique tour takes you on a gradual immersion into southern Morocco—from the Atlas Mountains to the edges of the Sahara. Over six days, you’ll cross diverse and majestic landscapes: red mountains, fertile valleys, fortified villages, hidden oases, and endless dunes. Far from classic tourist routes, this adventure reveals Morocco’s cultural and human richness through its earth-built kasbahs, authentic encounters, and nights in the Sahara.
